How to convert JPG to PNG
- Tap "Add photos" or drop your JPG images onto the box. PNG is already chosen.
- Tap Convert.
- Download each image, or all of them as one ZIP file.
Good to know
PNG is lossless: it keeps every pixel exactly, so editing the image and saving it again doesn’t blur it further. It can’t bring back detail the JPG has already lost, so the picture looks the same as before.
PNG files are bigger than JPG files. If you only need a smaller file, use Compress photo instead.
Questions
Does converting JPG to PNG improve the quality?
No. The picture looks exactly as it did. PNG only stops it losing more quality each time it is edited and saved.
Will the background become transparent?
No. A JPG has no see-through parts, so the PNG keeps the same background. To cut out the background, use Remove background.
Can I convert several images at once?
Yes, up to 4 at a time without an account, each up to 10 MB, and download them together in one ZIP file.
Are my images uploaded?
No. They are converted by your browser on your device. Nothing is sent to us.
