PNG to WebP

Add your PNG images and download them as WebP files, usually much smaller, for a website, online shop or app. Your images stay on your device.

Your files are processed on this device, and nothing is uploaded. Once the tool has finished your first file, it keeps working in airplane mode. Check it yourself

How to convert PNG to WebP

  1. Tap "Choose photos" or drop your PNG images onto the box. WebP is already chosen.
  2. Choose High quality, or Smaller file if size matters more.
  3. Tap Convert, then download each image or all of them as one ZIP file.

Good to know

WebP makes smaller files than PNG, so pages load faster and use less of your visitors’ data. Every current browser shows WebP, and most website builders and shops accept it.

See-through parts stay see-through. Screenshots and photos shrink the most; a small logo with few colors may already be small as a PNG.

Questions

Does WebP keep transparency?

Yes. A see-through background in the PNG stays see-through in the WebP image.

Will every program open WebP?

Browsers and most current apps do. Some older programs and upload forms don’t; for those, keep the PNG or use PNG to JPG.

Can I convert several images at once?

Yes, as many as you like at a time, and download them together in one ZIP file.

Are my images uploaded?

No. They are converted by your browser on your device. Nothing is sent to us.
