Request e-signatures on a PDF

Add a PDF, mark where each person signs, and download a signing request to send yourself. They open it here, sign it step by step and send it back. Nothing is uploaded: every step happens on each person’s own device.

Your files are processed on this device. Nothing is uploaded, and once you’ve added your first file it keeps working in flight mode.

How to request e-signatures on a PDF

  1. Add the PDF, type the names of the people who need to sign, and tap the pages to mark where each of them signs, initials, writes or ticks.
  2. Tap "Make signing request", download the PDF and send it yourself, by email, WhatsApp or any chat app.
  3. Each person opens this page, chooses Sign, adds the PDF and is guided field by field. They send the signed PDF back, with a certificate page at the end that lists who signed, what and when.

Good to know

The signing request is an ordinary PDF. Its "Sign here" boxes show in any PDF app, and the details of the request (the signers, the fields and a fingerprint of your original PDF) are stored inside it. Each signer types their own name and draws, types or uploads their signature. Their marks are added to the PDF without changing the original pages underneath.

We never receive your PDF, and we don’t send anything: you and the signers pass the file on yourselves. This also means nobody checks who signs or what time it is. The dates and times on the certificate come from each signer’s own device clock, and the certificate says so. Anyone with the PDF and this website could sign in someone’s name, so use it with people you know.

Whether an electronic signature is accepted for a particular document depends on the country and the document. You and the people signing are responsible for checking that. To check later that a signed PDF hasn’t been changed, open this page and choose "Check a signed PDF".

Questions

Do the people signing need an account or an app?

No. They open this page on a phone or computer, add the PDF you sent and follow the steps. Nothing to install and no sign-up.

Is my PDF uploaded or emailed by you?

No. The request is made on your device and you send it yourself. Each signer signs on their own device. We never receive the PDF.

Can several people sign the same PDF?

Yes, up to 10. You can let them sign in any order, or in a set order. Each person adds their part to the PDF and passes it on, and the certificate page grows with each signature.

How can I tell if a signed PDF was changed?

Choose "Check a signed PDF" on this page and add it. The check rebuilds every step from the original inside the file and compares them byte for byte, so even a one-letter change is found. It can’t tell who really signed, only that nothing was changed after each step.

Which characters can be written?

Names and text can use the letters of English and most Western European languages. Other alphabets are coming later.
