Good to know

Pixels are the dots that make up a photo. Forms and websites often ask for exact sizes, such as 600 × 600 pixels for a profile photo.

With "Keep proportions" on, the photo is scaled to fit inside the size you give without being stretched. Turn it off to fill the exact size; the photo is then cropped from the centre.

Questions

Should I keep proportions on?

Usually yes, so faces and objects are not stretched. Turn it off only when a form demands an exact width and height.

Which format do I get?

JPG for photos, or PNG if your original was a PNG.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. They are resized by your browser on your device.
