JPG to WebP

Add your JPG photos and download them as WebP files, usually smaller at the same look, for a website, blog or online shop. Your photos stay on your device.

Your files are processed on this device, and nothing is uploaded. Once the tool has finished your first file, it keeps working in airplane mode. Check it yourself

How to convert JPG to WebP

  1. Tap "Choose photos" or drop your JPG photos onto the box. WebP is already chosen.
  2. Choose High quality, or Smaller file if size matters more.
  3. Tap Convert, then download each photo or all of them as one ZIP file.

Good to know

WebP usually makes a photo noticeably smaller than JPG at the same quality, which helps a page load faster. Every current browser shows it.

Photos taken sideways are turned upright. If you only need a smaller JPG for a form, Compress photo keeps the JPG format, which every form accepts.

Questions

Is WebP better than JPG?

For websites, usually: the files are smaller at the same quality. For email attachments, printing and upload forms, JPG is the safer choice because everything accepts it.

Does converting make the photo look worse?

Saved at High quality, the difference is very hard to see. Choose Smaller file only when size matters most.

Can I convert several images at once?

Yes, as many as you like at a time, and download them together in one ZIP file.

Are my images uploaded?

No. They are converted by your browser on your device. Nothing is sent to us.
