Crop a PDF

Add a PDF, drag the crop box or type how much to cut from each edge, or let the tool remove the white margins, then download the cropped PDF. Your PDF stays on your device: nothing is uploaded.

Your files are processed on this device. Nothing is uploaded, and once you’ve added your first file it keeps working in flight mode.

How to crop a PDF

  1. Tap "Add a PDF" or drop it onto the box.
  2. Drag the crop box on the page, type margins in millimetres, or choose "Remove white margins".
  3. Choose which pages to crop, tap the Crop button and download.

Good to know

Cropping sets each page’s crop box: the part of the page that PDF apps show and print. The rest of the page is hidden, not deleted. It is still inside the file, and PDF-editing software can show it again. To remove private details for good, use Redact PDF instead.

The crop is measured the way you see the page, so it also works on pages that are stored sideways. If a page has a trim, bleed or art box (sizes used by printers), it is trimmed to fit inside the new crop box.

"Remove white margins" draws each page small and finds where its content starts and ends. Specks, scan shadows and page numbers count as content, so check the preview. Choose "Same on every page" to cut the same amount from every page.

Questions

Does cropping remove what I cut off?

No, it only hides it. Anyone with PDF-editing software can show the full page again. To remove text or pictures for good, use Redact PDF.

Can I crop only some pages?

Yes. Choose odd pages, even pages, or type page numbers such as 1-3, 5.

Does cropping make the file smaller?

Hardly. The hidden parts stay in the file, so it stays about the same size. To make it smaller, use Compress PDF.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. Your PDF is cropped by your browser on your device.
