How to make a quote

  1. Fill in your business details and, if you like, add your logo.
  2. Add your customer and a line for each item or job, with the quantity and price.
  3. Set how long the quote is valid, and add any terms.
  4. Check the preview, then tap "Download quote PDF".

Good to know

Each quote can end with “Accepted by” and “Date” lines, so your customer can sign it and send it back. They can sign it on their phone with our Fill & sign tool, without printing.

When the customer accepts, tap “Turn into an invoice”. The customer, items, tax and discount move to a new invoice in our invoice maker, numbered after your last invoice. No account is needed.

Your business details, logo and terms, and the quote you’re working on, are kept in this browser on this device, so you can carry on later and the next quote takes seconds. Nothing is sent to us. "Back up my invoice details" saves them in one file, for another browser or device.

Questions

What is the difference between a quote and an invoice?

A quote tells a customer what the work will cost before they agree to it. An invoice asks for payment once the work is done or agreed. Once a quote is accepted, tap “Turn into an invoice” to make the invoice from it.

Can I call it an estimate or a quotation?

Yes. Choose Quote, Quotation or Estimate as the title.

Are my details uploaded or stored by you?

No. The quote is built by your browser, and your details and the quote you’re working on are kept only in this browser on this device.
