iPhone photo (HEIC) to JPG

Add your iPhone photos and download JPG copies that open everywhere. Your photos stay on your device: nothing is uploaded.

Your files are processed on this device. Nothing is uploaded, and once you’ve added your first file it keeps working in flight mode.

How to convert iPhone photos (HEIC) to JPG

  1. Tap "Add iPhone photos" or drop your HEIC photos onto the box.
  2. Choose JPG, or PNG if you need every detail.
  3. Tap Convert, then download each photo or all of them as a ZIP file.

Good to know

iPhones save photos as HEIC files, which many Windows computers, websites and upload forms can’t open. Converting to JPG fixes that, and the photos come out the right way up.

The converted copies don’t carry the photo’s hidden details, such as where it was taken. The first photo takes a few seconds while the photo reader loads in your browser; the rest are quicker.

To make your iPhone save JPG photos from now on, go to Settings > Camera > Formats and choose Most Compatible.

Questions

Will the photos lose quality?

JPG copies are saved at high quality, so the difference is very hard to see. Choose PNG if you need every detail; the files are much bigger.

Can I convert many photos at once?

Yes, up to 4 at a time without an account, each up to 10 MB, and you can download them together as a ZIP file. Free accounts, coming soon, will take 20 at a time.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. They are read and converted by your browser on your device. The photo reader, an open-source library called libheif, is downloaded from our site the first time and runs on your device.
