How to convert HEIC to PNG

  3. Download each photo, or all of them as one ZIP file.

Good to know

iPhones save photos as HEIC, which many Windows computers, websites and editing programs can’t open. PNG opens everywhere and doesn’t throw away any detail, which suits photos you still want to edit.

PNG files of photos are large. For sending or uploading, JPG is usually better: use iPhone photo to JPG, which makes smaller files. The photos come out the right way up.

Questions

HEIC to PNG or HEIC to JPG?

PNG keeps every detail but makes big files, good for editing. JPG makes much smaller files at a quality that is very hard to tell apart, good for sending and uploading.

Does the photo keep its location?

No. The converted copies don’t carry hidden details such as where the photo was taken.

Can I convert several images at once?

Yes, as many as you like at a time, and download them together in one ZIP file.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. They are read and converted by your browser on your device. Nothing is sent to us.
