Good to know
Each sheet is laid out as Excel prints it: its page size and print scaling where the workbook sets them, column widths, row heights, number formats, colors, borders, merged cells and Excel tables. Hidden sheets are left out, as Excel does. The numbers in the PDF are real text, so they can be searched and copied.
Charts placed on a sheet aren’t drawn yet: each shows as a box with its title. Charts on a chart sheet of their own are drawn. If you need a chart from a sheet, Excel’s own File, Save As, PDF includes it.
Excel’s Calibri is replaced by Carlito, a free look-alike with the same letter widths, so columns fit as they do in Excel. It takes .xlsx files, the format Excel has used since 2007, including files saved from Google Sheets, LibreOffice and Numbers. The converter runs in your browser; it is downloaded from our site once and then works offline. Your workbook is never uploaded.
Questions
Will the PDF look like my spreadsheet?
Close to it: each sheet is laid out as Excel prints it, with the same column widths, formats and colors. Charts placed on a sheet show as a box with their title for now, so check the PDF before you send it.
Is my workbook uploaded?
No. Your browser converts it on your device, so budgets, price lists and accounts stay with you. The first time, the converter itself is downloaded from our site.
Can I convert an .xls file?
Not directly. Open it in Excel, choose File, Save As, Excel Workbook (.xlsx), then convert the .xlsx file.
Can I convert a Google Sheet?
Yes. In Google Sheets, choose File, Download, Microsoft Excel (.xlsx), then add that file here.
Does every sheet go into the PDF?
Every sheet that isn’t hidden, one after the other, as Excel prints the whole workbook.
