How to resize a signature to 10 to 20 KB for online forms
- Sign on plain white paper and take a photo of it from straight above, in good light.
- Tap "Choose a photo" and add it. Pick your form, or choose "Other sizes" and type what your form asks for.
- Tap "Make the file", check the size shown, and download the JPG.
Good to know
Online application forms check a signature’s file size and turn it away when it is too big or too small. SSC asks for 10 to 20 KB, IBPS and SBI for 10 to 20 KB at 140 × 60 pixels, UPSC for 20 to 100 KB, and NEET and JEE Main for 10 to 100 KB (their notices, read in October 2026). The file is saved at the best quality that stays under the upper limit. If the picture alone is still under the lower limit, as small signatures often are, blank filler is added inside the file to reach it; the picture itself stays exactly the same.
"Make the paper white" takes the gray out of a phone photo, so the paper is white and the ink stands out. Crop the photo close to the signature first with Crop and rotate, so the signature fills the picture. Where a form gives a size in pixels, the signature is fitted inside it on white and never cut off.
Questions
Why does the form say my signature is too small?
Many forms set a lower limit, such as 10 KB, and a small, clear signature can come out under it. This tool keeps the file between both limits: at the best quality first, then with blank filler inside the file if it still needs it.
Which ink and paper should I use?
The ones your form’s notice asks for. IBPS and SBI ask for black ink on white paper.
Can I make a new signature instead of using a photo?
Yes. Draw or type it with Signature maker, download the PNG, and add it here to get the size your form asks for.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The file is made by your browser on your device.
