How to crop an image into a circle

  1. Tap "Choose a photo" or drop one onto the box. The circle shape is already chosen.
  2. Drag the circle to move it, and drag a corner of its box to make it bigger or smaller.
  3. Tap "Finish the photo" and download the PNG.

Good to know

Profile pictures on most sites and apps are shown in a circle. Cropping it yourself decides exactly which part shows, and the round PNG also works for a logo on a slide, in a document or on a website, on any background color.

The picture is a square PNG with the corners outside the circle see-through. It keeps the photo’s full resolution (on iPhones and iPads up to about 16.7 megapixels). You can rotate, flip or straighten the photo in the same step.

Questions

Why is the circle saved as a PNG and not a JPG?

A JPG can’t be see-through, so the corners would come out white or black. A PNG keeps them see-through. Need a JPG with a white background? Convert the PNG with the Image converter.

Can I make the circle smaller than the photo?

Yes. Drag any corner of the box around the circle, or use the plus and minus keys, and drag the circle to the part you want.

Are my photos uploaded?
