Rotate an image

How to rotate an image

  1. Tap "Choose a photo" or drop one onto the box.
  2. Tap Rotate left or Rotate right until it is the right way up, or move the straighten slider for a small tilt.
  3. Tap "Finish the photo" and download it.

Good to know

Phone photos sometimes show sideways in an upload form or an email, and photos of documents are often a little crooked. Rotating fixes the first; straightening fixes the second.

Straightening enlarges the photo slightly so the corners stay filled, as phone photo editors do. The photo is saved at full resolution, and you can crop it in the same step.

Questions

Does rotating lower the quality?

The photo keeps its full resolution. JPG and WebP photos are saved again at high quality; a PNG keeps every pixel when it isn’t straightened.

Can I rotate a PDF page instead?

Yes, with Rotate PDF, which turns pages without redrawing them.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Your photo is edited by your browser on your device.
